Vacuum & Vacuum Drying Ovens

Many companies employ a Chemical Drier somewhere within their processes. On the Powder Technology Ltd web-site we list the complete range of Powder Drier, that we offer to the Pharmaceutical, Food or Chemical Industries. A Vacuum Tray Drier or Conical Drier can both be used as a Powder Dryer in these industries.

The Pink range of Vacuum Tray Drier are designed to provide a benign environment for the gentle removal of water or solvents under a vacuum. The quality of build of our Vacuum Tray Dryer is unmatched within the industry and provides an easily cleanable GMP finish.

Drying under vacuum is a widely used thermal process in many branches of industry. The objective of a vacuum drying oven is to promote gentle drying of high quality and value products containing water or solvents, without affecting any of the product characteristics.

During vacuum drying the pressure is reduced within the oven so that the water or solvents begin to evaporate at lower temperatures. The rate of drying can thus be optimized by careful control of the temperature and pressure.

A vacuum drying oven therefore consists of an oven with shelves for trays, a heating system, and a vacuum system, all kept in balance by a precise control system.

Here we can see a vacuum oven drying system from PINK as used by a company in the food industry.

Vacuum Circulating Air Drying Oven VUT

Products with poor conduction or contained in a product carrier will suffer from slow or poor drying rates. This can be improved upon by drying under vacuum along with a circulating air-flow. The product is heated up to the requisite temperature under circulating air. When the working temperature has been reached the chamber is evacuated in order to promote drying. This cycle can be repeated several times depending upon the nature of the product to be dried.
